WHAT’S THIS?

Following a court ruling on Friday, celebrities have been speaking out and showing support for the pop singer Kesha.
Justice Shirley Kornreich for the Manhattan Supreme Court denied Kesha’s request for a temporary injuction that would abolish her exclusive Sony record contract with music producer Dr. Luke, who Kesha claims emotionally, sexually and physically abused her during their 10-year working relationship.

Apparently we live in a world where rape is not a big deal? We should all be disgusted with that ruling. Women are not protected! #FreeKesha

the fact that kesha has to choose to either freely make music or avoid the person who abused her is outrageous and degrading #freekesha

really disappointing to hear about this kesha case. no one should be denied freedom from their abuser, nor freedom of their creativity.

Among celebrities, a Change.org petition was also created, calling for a boycott of Sony products and music. At the time of writing the petition had more than 126,000 signatures.
Additionally, Kenneth Harris, a guitarist for the band Panic at The Disco claims that people were attacking him on social media for following Dr. Luke on Twitter.
I have unfollowed Dr. Luke everyone chill out. Also have a little class and maybe don’t launch your attacks on a picture of my child.
